on ‘A little peace’:

Belgian jazz outfit Nfusion blend astute songwriting with a slick contemporary bossa sound, on their release of “A Little Peace.” After opening with a recurring syncopated bass figure, this track quickly settles into a mid tempo clave groove built around acoustic guitar, upright bass, electric piano and mixed percussion. Muted trumpet adds scintillating color and a smooth solo in support of expressive female vocals that convey a stark warning concerning the state of the world today. Latin jazz and vocal jazz fans will love the spicy sounds and captivating rhythms of Nfusion’s “A LittlePeace”.

on ‘My own way’:

This uptempo track is highlighted by syncopated clavé rhythms and an exquisite horn arrangement, with a deep groove provided by a funk bass line and Afro-Latin percussion. Smooth male vocals are reinforced by rich, buttery group harmonies from mixed background singers, and deliver lyrics that explore heady themes of rugged individualism and personal resolve. An extended instrumental outro section spotlights the winds, as trumpet and saxes weave intricate post-bop melodic lines overtop a fiery rhythm section to close out the tune. Jazz-pop lovers do not want to miss out on Nfusion’s “My Own Way”.

on ‘Passion and Persistance’:

The title track from their 2024 album employs shifting tonalities and shuffling rhythms to draw the listener in, with walking upright bass and electric piano bolstered by a nifty horn arrangement in support of hearty female vocals. A soulful topline delivers optimistic lyrics that promote ideals such as resolve and dedication, followed by blues-inspired electric guitar in a stylish instrumental solo section that closes out the tune in a soulful fashion.

Andre

Andre is a freelance session guitarist, composer, and sound engineer based in the U.K. Having studied music production and composition at a degree level, he has taken his passion for all things audio-related to a level that has allowed him to become both a competent musician and performer. Being a self-confessed "Guitar Nerd", Andre has been continually studying the guitar as well as teaching it, helping students learn the instrument, develop their songwriting, and become proficient in home recording.

on ‘Hello little man’:

“Hello Little Man” is a stirring tribute, a ballad that resonates with the heart of anyone who’s experienced the ache of love and hope intertwined with adversity. The song opens with a tender, almost whispered vocal delivery, where every word seems to carry the weight of a grandparent’s love and concern. The artist’s vocal performance is a delicate
dance between vulnerability and resolve, showcasing an impressive command of both tone and dynamics. Each phrase is delivered with an emotional precision that feels
neither forced nor overly sentimental, making the song all the more poignant. The way the voice rises and falls mimics the journey of hope and heartache, with breathy sighs in the
quieter moments and swells of strength during the choruses.

on ‘Wesson’:

Nfusion’s dazzling jazz showcase “Wesson” unfolds with
unrelenting energy, a musical spark igniting from the very first measure, immediately pulling listeners into a world of intricate interplay and awe-inspiring virtuosity. At the forefront is dazzling lead guitar, spinning an intricate web of melodic finesse with effortless fluidity. The guitar lines shimmer, their notes crisp and clear, bending in and out of bluesy motifs and smooth bebop runs, all while maintaining an air of polished confidence. Each phrase feels like a conversation with itself, echoing back with a slightly
different inflection, as if the player is reconsidering and refining their thoughts mid-flight. This is jazz at its most
exhilarating—an electrifying blend of virtuosity, musical dialogue, and an unstoppable sense of groove.

on ‘Mother Earth’:

Mother Earth” feels like both a
celebration and a warning, with its soul-drenched vocals, intricate, progressive arrangement, and poignant lyrics forming a piece of music that is as engaging as it is thought-provoking. It leaves the listener with both a groove to move to and a message to reflect on. The arrangement is nothing short of remarkable, combining elements of funk with progressive fusion in a way that feels both vibrant and layered. The clavinet’s distinct staccato tones punch
through the mix with sharp precision, adding a gritty, rhythmic edge that perfectly complements the funk-infused guitar riffs.
